How LearningTime Began

LearningTime Canada started with a simple belief: every child is unique and deserves a learning experience tailored to their interests, strengths, and developmental stage.

We combine the power of storytelling with evidence-based early literacy research. Every book we create systematically builds the six skills that predict kindergarten success: Print Motivation, Vocabulary, Print Awareness, Narrative Skills, Letter Knowledge, and Phonological Awareness.

Our approach is grounded in partnership with clinical researchers, alignment with Reach Out and Read, and pilot programs with institutions like Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

What We Are Building

Our mission is multifaceted:

Offer personalized book subscriptions from prenatal through age 5
Support families through evidence-based, developmentally-sequenced content
Promote daily reading starting before birth, when babies recognize voices in utero

Empower parents and caregivers with simple frameworks like SHARE (Comment, Ask, Respond for interactive reading after 6 months)
Preserve family voices and stories across generations
Build home libraries that become shelves of family memories
Advocate for educational equality through our 1-for-1 give-back model

Every paid subscription funds another child's literacy foundation. Every family who joins expands access for families who cannot afford books.

Working Toward 100% Literacy by 2099

We are working toward universal literacy within three generations, assuming 25 year generations starting in 2025.

Generation 1 (2025 to 2050): Prenatal and early childhood reading becomes a daily family habit.

Generation 2 (2050 to 2075): Families raised with daily reading pass it forward as normal caregiving.

Generation 3 (2075 to 2099): Communities, schools, and families reinforce a culture where literacy is universal.

This is generational work. Every child is the star of their own story, starting before birth. The habit compounds across families and communities. Literacy becomes the foundation every child receives from day one.

Every Subscription Builds Access for Another Family

We build giving directly into our subscription model. Every 36 month subscription (Seasonal or Monthly) funds another child's first three years. Every 60 month subscription (Complete Journey) helps two children receive their critical first 36 months.

We begin giving back to the community immediately, so access expands now, not later. This is how literacy becomes universal. Your family's choice creates impact beyond your own home.
